Summary
By sunset, his pain had increased considerably into true, sharp spasms that had him gasping. The need to hide, to curl up in a warm, soft den, was cowed only by his mate’s powerful arms wrapped around him, swiftly, easily carrying him like some silly human bride they had seen on the shore once. “Shit,” he groaned as the latest spasm subsided. Contractions, and they both knew it.
“Easy, love,” Ghost murmured, holding onto his mate all the tighter. They were in familiar territory, now; he recognized the distinct marking carved into a piece of rock. “I think I ‘ave a place for us to go.”
