Summary
The morning follows, as it is wont to do. Kaveh feels the question bubble up in his chest again, threatening to escape his throat. He swallows it back down with considerable effort, attempting to quell the flame of his curiosity down to flickering embers. He will never snuff it out completely, but as long as he does not cross that line, as long as he does not let the sword fall, he’s allowed to have some iota of that flame left.
Alhaitham falls asleep in the same position every time he becomes a little tipsy. Kaveh is confused, but he won't ask after the first time.

Oh. Oh no.
“What is what?” Kaveh asks, quickly. Far, far too quickly.
“That.” Alhaitham reaches forward, then. He grabs Kaveh’s chin and directs the other man’s gaze towards three hearts that have drifted off to Alhaitham’s right.
“O-oh,” Kaveh chokes out, torn between mortified and exceedingly overwhelmed. He has some explaining to do.
Kaveh temporarily suffers from a strange illness where hearts appear whenever his emotions are at a high. Lucky for him, those hearts seem to have a thing for Alhaitham. Go figure.

"Okay, but objectively," Kaveh started, pacing back and forth across the living room rug, "do you guys think he's hot?"
"We've never seen his face, Kaveh."
"Stop looking at me like that. I just want to know if he's handsome. Is that a crime?"
Alhaitham, who had gone very quiet, snapped his book shut.
"I need to make a call."
Kaveh blinked at him. "A call? To who?"
"Work."
Tighnari frowned. "You've never mentioned what you actually do for work."
Alhaitham was already halfway to the door. "Because none of you would understand it."
Kaveh is a cosplayer; in other words, a modern-day Prince Charming in a world where chivalry is dead, as quoted from Cyno.
All artists know that art, in any form, comes from a fundamental basis of inspiration. He's a very big fan of the anonymous comic book author known by the pseudonym “Sage". He doesn't make much of an effort to hide this fact.
The only issue is this: he also has no idea that "Sage" lives in the same apartment, one door down.
