Al-Haitham tucked another sigh into his partner’s chest and pressed his face against the V of his sleep shirt before mumbling, “I woke you up. I’m sorry.”
Kaveh’s jaw nearly dropped open from shock. A sincere apology from Al-Haitham?! He must still be dreaming. The Al-Haitham of last week had brought home a Qucusaur lamp, pyrographic wall décor of an Aranara, and matching Shaggy Sumpter Beast slippers. Al-Haitham hadn’t apologized for his abysmal taste in furnishings then, but Kaveh did convince him to return the lamp and décor. (Although, he would rather experience a year’s worth of Samsaras before admitting to anyone that he thought the slippers were both cute and cozy.)
