Xisuma’s jaw tightened. “This isn’t Grian.”But Silly only stared back at them, unblinking.
“Then where is he?”
And that was the moment—
the breathless, terrifying moment—
when they all realized:Grian was gone.

He can always be certain that the coven he's serving will take care of him. Most humans don't have that, so he's grateful.
Philza and his coven are more of the same in a long line of vampires needing a blood source for injuries or illnesses. Techno is happy to provide. And if he's almost close enough to touch the fondness and love within the coven... he's grateful.
