He merely nodded at the warning, the reminder to behave, and closed the door shut behind him, watching as she drove away, leaving him to fend for himself despite the anxious scent permeating the air around him ever since he’d first presented.
But now that he was sitting in the bland waiting room, fiddling with his fingers and staring at the white walls as he waited for his name to be called, he almost wished she was there, just to tell him what the hell he was to expect when he went inside, to grip his arm and ground him into reality.
