    Summary

Bruce isn’t foolish enough to mistake this man for his son, for Jason, but everything about him tugs at his mind.

Jason was four foot ten, barely scraping a hundred pounds on a good day. Despite his twiggy form, he had round cheeks, clinging to the baby fat from his adolescence. His curls were unruly and his eyes were the brightest blue, always scrunched with delight or mischief.

This man is everything Jason was not. He’s tall, broad. Every feature is sharp and defined with a strong jaw and muscles that nearly rival Bruce’s own. His eyes are dark, almost dangerous, his mouth set into a frown. He is in a worn pair of dark jeans and a blood stained leather jacket.

There is nothing about this man that should make Bruce think of Jason, and yet there is.

    Summary

“If you could see your son one last time…what would you say to him?” The question must’ve caught Bruce off guard because there’s a distinct lack of breathing on his part. Seconds pass and yet they feel like hours.

“I’d tell him he is one of the best things to happen to me. And that I’m sorry.”

A lump grew in Jason’s throat. “For what?”

“For ever making him doubt that I loved him.”

In which Jason just wants to read his book at a park in peace and instead he get feelings.

    Summary

The sun peeks through the gaps in the weaving of the half-closed curtains, illuminating Damian from behind: enough to darken his features, but not enough to obscure them, and it highlights the cowlick springing from Damian’s head as the wax he probably spread through his hair this morning loses its hold. His delicate face is scrunched up in concentration, sharp, dark eyebrows furrowed and mouth pouted; his posture is hunched, shoulders slightly pulled up, almost as if he wishes to hide his newest project from the world.
Bruce takes the tiny notebook out of the inner pocket of his jacket before he realizes what he’s doing. He flips over to an empty page, clicks the pen twice, and starts sketching.

    Or,
Bruce secretly draws Damian drawing, and Damian finds something that connects him to his father some more.

    Summary

Damian is a child who should not have the scars he does; Bruce is a father who has plenty of his own scars, but still wishes he could take his son’s, too.

The silver lining is where they find each other— a broken son and a broken father, putting each other back together.
