After a while, Ivan and Luka finished setting everything up. The lights dimmed, and the projector hummed to life. A PowerPoint slide appeared on the screen.
THE CHEMISTRY OF LOVE
Mizi, Sua, Hyuna, and Till all stared at it.
Till felt a strange knot form in his stomach. This was bizarre—even for Ivan and Luka.
Ivan stepped forward, hands clasped behind his back. “You’re probably wondering why we asked you here,” he said evenly. “Recently, I’ve been experiencing a series of irregular physiological responses.”
The four of them stiffened.
“My dopamine and norepinephrine levels are elevated,” Ivan continued. “Oxytocin spikes have been frequent. Serotonin levels have dropped, while cortisol has increased. Additionally, I’ve observed an irregular heart rate and impaired concentration.”
He paused, as if waiting for the data to settle.
“Taken together, these symptoms lead to only one plausible conclusion.” Ivan looked straight ahead. “I am in love.”Or
Ivan thinks his feelings for Till are fake, so he uses science to prove it.

This is a trick. Till should say no. Till should acknowledge that he’s been acting really weird about his best friend lately and that he has to get normal before they see each other again. Till should tell Ivan to spend his once-in-a-blue-moon free day relaxing at a spa—a spa? Till frowns. People would get so fucking weird about that. He should go somewhere else where clothes are involved. Skiing sounds better—and not slouching at Till’s ass dorm. Till should get a grip.

Five times Till loses his mind over Ivan's waist, and one time he does something about it.

“We finally meet again.”
Till’s face scrunches up like a crumpled piece of paper. His eyebrows are furrowed and up so high, his eyes squinting yet wide. And his lips curve in all directions. He’s using every single nerve to try to piece together what the fuck is happening.
He flicks his tongue at his bottom lip to wet it. Like when you lick your thumb to grip the page in a book, he’s trying to somehow grip a thought to form.
Till blinks, and then he asks an octave higher than he’s used to, “I’m sorry. Who are you?”
The pretty stranger, Till deems him. Looks at him with this blanched look. His eyes widen, which almost seems impossible with how big they already are. Like a deer in the headlights. And he looks almost sad.
A new student transfers to the small countryside; mysterious, handsome, and claiming to know Till. But Till has no memory or idea of who this stranger is, should he?

See? With the art block and fields being on complete opposite ends, he didn’t even catch sight of the team once. Okay, maybe he saw some of them in the halls sometimes, but fuck it, everyone goes to the hall, alright? Anyway, he didn’t really have an opinion on them, since the guys weren’t those stereotypical bully jocks, or whatnot. They were known for being civil, if nothing else.

So tell him why they started approaching him, asking about his opinions on romance, occasionally mentioning his romantic preferences.
Tell Till why the entire team suddenly decided that it would be totally normal to visit him after class, around campus, and call out his name (and how the fuck do they even know his name?), ask him random questions, and just leave?

He slowly releases his leg, like his body is still stuck to that damn ice, that irritating perfection. Ivan bows again—dry, respectful, calculated down to the last degree. Nothing beyond what’s required. When he straightens, his eyes scan the stands without hurry, automatic, professional.
But even so, he finds Till.
“Arrogant bastard,” he mutters again, already standing.
Between cold, gleaming ice rinks and dinners charged with ulterior motives, Till finds himself lost in his turbulent relationship with Ivan.

And he would've taken a tall, kind, handsome police officer as his dad... that is if he seemed interested in adopting a teenage delinquent. He didn't. He seemed more interested in doing other things with Till.Or; Till gets caught graffitiing private property but hey, at least it was by the ever-so-kind police officer, Ivan, who won't call his dad and instead will teach him how it feels to be alive.

The answer catches Till off guard, his mouth hanging slightly open as he turns to Ivan.
Till blinks, then echoes, “Roommates.”
“But we’re not dating… or anything,” he adds, a nervous glance sent Till’s way as he avoids direct eye contact. A first for the other boy, given how intensely he looks at Till literally every other second.
Roommates but not dating anything, my ass. What did they think they were?
Or, Till reminds Ivan that they do a lot of things that roommates don’t usually do.

A soft smile forming on his lips as his eyes crinkled with mirth, a stunning sight that caused Till’s heart to race and his palms to become sweaty.
“You’ll make me blush if you keep staring at me like that.”
“Shut up and focus on the road!” Till spat out, feeling his face heat up with embarrassment at being caught staring so openly at the other. Fighting to calm his heart as Ivan began to laugh at his reaction, eyes lingering on Till for a moment longer before turning his attention back to the road as the light turned green.
University student Till and Popular idol Ivan are childhood friends who both believe are in one-sided love with the other, neither wanting to ruin their friendship by admitting their feelings.

Summary
Looking back on his friendship with Ivan, Till should have known something was off from the beginning. He always seemed to do things to purposefully bother Till or set him up for embarrassment in some way or another, but Till didn’t realize this fact until it was much too late.
So, it stands to reason that on one of their many sleepovers during adolescence, Till agreed to play a game with Ivan. The game was seemingly innocuous, one Till had seen played countless times before by other children on the playground or in school. What was weird was the additional rules that Ivan imposed on the game, claiming it was the “real way to play.”
The night started like any other. Till’s mother dropped him off at Ivan’s house in the early afternoon and told the boys she would be back in the morning to pick him up. It was nothing out of the ordinary, this was the same routine they followed almost every weekend for as long as Till could remember.
“Have you ever played Uno before, Till?” Ivan asks curiously, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips.
