Summary
Buck knew he was in love with Eddie, he was never going to tell him and he was okay with that. He was okay with loving his best friend and never telling him because it guaranteed he'd still be in his life. He was okay with never getting to know what it felt like to hold Eddie in a warm embrace. He was okay with never getting to feel Eddie's body pressed against his is the heat of passion. He was okay with never getting to know what Eddie tasted like, what his lips tasted like. But what happens when Eddie gets shot and all Buck can think about is all he's regretted.
In which Buck tastes Eddie for the first time and he regrets everything.

“Woah! Those look so real—how did you stick them in? I was going to be a vampire, too, but all the fake teeth I could find looked cheap and irritated my gums within five minutes, but those? Where did you even get them from?”
Eddie blinked once, twice, at the mask in front of him, leaning up close to his fangs. He could see his hands, wrapped tight in black leather gloves, hovering in the air as if he were about to touch his teeth.
He jerked his head back slightly, trying to regain some of the personal space he’d lost in this man’s presence.
“Um-,” Eddie started. He wasn’t sure what he was going to say—some lie about where he’d gotten his fangs from or to ask for him to take a step back, but it didn’t matter; the man in front of him interpreted him.
“Sorry. Sorry, I’ve just realized how weird this is. I’m Buck, by the way. Not a creepy weirdo, although I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t believe me.”
The man lifted his mask, and oh. Maybe he wouldn’t mind him sticking his fingers in his mouth, after all.
Buck and Eddie met at a Halloween party. They fall in love and Buck really, really wants to be bitten.

“I think the fact that you’re still making this about Eddie is all the answer you need about Tommy.” Bobby’s tone shifts to something sterner, more severe. “You’re being selfish, here, and from the sounds of it – you’ve done enough of that.”
It stings, and Buck knows it needs to sting. Because he deserves it. Because he is. Because he’s barely thought about Tommy and the fact that he cheated on him – that their entire relationship may have just been an excuse for Buck not to face that he’s in love with his best friend.
Even if he can’t have Eddie…
But that’s the thing, that’s what he can’t get past – why he can’t move, why he’s paralyzed in this spot, erupting and erupting, sending shrapnel into anything in his path. Because he can’t get past that – can’t get past if he can’t have Eddie.
Because if he can’t have Eddie, what’s the point?

“I’m really sorry, Eddie,” Buck says, quiet in the stillness. “I really am. I don’t know—I didn’t mean—”
Eddie holds up a hand to stop him. They’ve already gone over this, multiple times. Buck apologized to him again and again at the park, and sent a whole thread of apologies to Eddie via text while he was waiting at the hospital.
Buck doesn’t seem to realize that Eddie is all carrot and no stick. He pulled a dick move and fucked up Eddie’s ankle, and all Eddie has wanted to do since getting carted off to the ER is rush to reassure him.
A 7x04 alternate ending where Eddie goes to Buck’s loft instead of Tommy.
