Summary
Dream makes a small sound. George thinks he can see something flooding through his body, like a realization. “I’m the love of your life?”
George scoffs. “Don’t act like you didn’t know that, you idiot.”
“I mean, you’ve dated other people,” Dream states matter-of-factly. There’s no resentment or jealousy in his voice, just the knowledge that no one could ever come close to him.
“We’re gonna talk about this now?” George scoffs, breathy. “Y’know it’s different with you. You just want to hear it again.”
Dream through George's eyes over time as he realizes there's no one else he wants to share his life with.

George presses his body against his, warmth curls in his gut. Dream makes a small sound under his breath. “Dream, you’re so fucking—”
Dream kisses him before he even gets to say it, and they stumble against the wall of the elevator. This is the stupidest thing George has ever done, but he loves stupid with Dream. He loves wanting this much.
Wanting Dream is bigger than his body.
Dream and George try their luck at subtlety across three different cities.

“Dinner,” Dream reminds him, it’s the last thing he wants to do. “You can kiss me later.”
George groans and presses his forehead against his, breathes fast. “I want to kiss you now.”
Dream laughs, a little mesmerized. “You’re so needy.”
“I’m allowed to be needy with you,” George states. “I’m allowed to.”
Dream knows what he means when he says he’s allowed to. They’re both like this with each other, obsessive, like the world would stop spinning if they don’t get enough.
Dream and George go back to each other every single time.

“Want you,” is all he hears, but he probably heard it wrong. His brain is barely working, all groggy from waking up and immediately stumbling out of bed to head downstairs. “Miss you.”
Sapnap is sure he heard that clearly, and he blinks once, a little phased by how needy George sounds. Sapnap doesn’t really know the implications of it — He just knows that he rarely gets to hear George like that, but he supposes when he does, it’s always next to Dream.
It takes Sapnap a while to realize he's been watching Dream and George fall in love more and more every day.

Summary
“Should see you more in the sun, then,” George’s fingers are still on her face, so soft and barely there, but Dream feels it so strongly that it’s difficult to function. “Someone should kiss them under the sun.”
Dream tastes acid on her tongue, laughing despite the strong urge to scream her lungs out. “Anyone in mind?”
“Dunno,” George shrugs, and she drops her hand back down, pink spreading on the apex of her cheeks. She turns her head away from Dream to pretend like she’s watching the movie, but Dream knows that she hasn’t paid attention in forever. “Maybe.”

His thumb traces the fabric of his sweatpants. “Go to bed.”
“My bed?” George questions, testing the waters. “Or yours?”
“It’s always up to you,” Dream replies. But he looks like he wants to say mine, looks like he’s searching for George’s answer to mirror his own.
“Yours, then,” George says in one breath, watching the corners of Dream’s face brighten up like a horizon-hidden sun.
“Mine, then,” Dream confirms. And that solidifies it. Solidifies silk sheets and Dream’s skin against his.
In Florida, George learns just how much he can want.

“You look really beautiful right now.” It leaves his mouth before his brain is able to stop the muscles of his mouth from moving, and it’s like he comprehends the impending disaster only when it reaches George’s ears. He’s crimson red all over, from the tips of his ears to the bones of his cheeks. It’s safe to say he’s bitten off more than he can chew.
“Dream,” George exhales, vowels curling around his tongue heavily.
“George,” he repeats his name like he’s testing the waters, and it feels like he’s sauntering into uncharted territories head-first. “Can I kiss you?”
Agreeing to be friends with benefits with George is the worst decision of Dream's life.

“Are you cold?” Dream asks, ready to wrap the blanket around him.
“No,” he answers. “Touch me anyway.”
Dream laughs from the bottom of his stomach. “I will,” he looks at him, and thinks that he falls in love more, if it’s even possible. He pulls him closer and wraps his arms around his back. “Sweetheart.”
George shoots a look at him. “Sweetheart?”
“You are,” Dream strokes his bare knee, makes his lip curl towards his cheekbones. His heart tightens his chest. “My sweetheart.”
Dream, George, and a boundless love that grows within them.

Summary
“I missed you so much tonight.”
Karl’s heart squeezes in his chest, but he forces himself to stay in check despite how badly he wants to act like the setting is different. He can feel as his blush floods, burning rosy at the bones behind his cheeks, reaching everywhere from his neck to the tips of his ears. “I was in the same room as you.”
“Doesn’t matter. You weren’t next to me,” Sapnap shoots him a look, and Karl despises his heart for the way it beats for him. “Missed touching and holding you. I don’t get to do that when you’re away.”
Karl and Sapnap have been more than friends ever since they met. A weekend in San Diego blurs the lines even more.

“We’ve been planning it for so long,” Dream says gently. He’s transparent, as he always has been, and more so now that everything he wants is within reach. There’s no use trying to preserve his dignity now. “I wanted you to feel at home.”
For some reason, Dream clenches his jaw after that, waiting for a swift decline that never comes. Instead, George leans into his touch, relaxes his muscles. “I am home. You’re here.”
George is finally in Florida, and Dream wants to memorize every inch of him.

Then, they’re looking at each other, eyes and nose and face. Then, Sapnap looks at Karl’s lips, thinks of how it would feel like to run a finger through the edges of it, to move closer until he feels his breath against his skin, to kiss him until he’s breathless.
“I should’ve,” Karl smiles. “I like your eyes too. They make me feel safe.”
He swallows, raises his eyebrows out of instinct. “They do?”
"Yeah,” he whispers. “You make me feel safe.”
Or, Sapnap takes a weekend trip to North Carolina to visit Karl. Things don't exactly turn out the way they're supposed to.

“I was afraid, I think,” George blinks, eyes directed at the gloomy sight in front of him. “I’ve always hated the things I was afraid of.”
Dream brings his elbow to rest on the sand as he lifts himself up slightly to look at George’s face. “What else are you afraid of?”
George takes a deep breath, tilting his head away from the moon, letting silver dance on sharpened cheekbones. Dream thinks he has cunning ways to find, to be, his weakest spot. “Sometimes, I’m afraid of the things I want.”
Or, getting stood up on a trip to Hawaii by their friends certainly weren’t on Dream and George’s agenda. And neither was falling in love.

“...Help?” Karl blinks through disconcerted perplexity.
“Look, it doesn’t have to be awkward,” Sapnap says casually. “Think about it. If something goes wrong, it won’t be a big deal, because you know that it’s not actually…real. Besides, isn’t it better to do it with someone you know and trust rather than a complete stranger?”
Or, it takes a simple question and an obscene amount of pining for Karl and Sapnap’s friendship to crumble into pieces.
