The thing is, she wants to do better. She can do better, she knows she can do better.
But unfortunately for the Doctor, the universe seems determined to prove her wrong.

Summary
Catra clenches her fists. She won’t let it happen. She won’t endanger their future. “We can’t change anything. We’ll just have to wait, and do everything the same way we did before.”
Adora grabs Catra’s shoulders. Her grip is so tight, it’s nearly painful. “But do you realize what that means for us? Playing along. Letting things go the exact same way as before–”
Catra’s expression darkens. “I know,” she says, struggling to keep her voice from trembling. “You’ll have to leave. We’ll have to be enemies again.”

Years after defeating Horde Prime, Catra and Adora inexplicably wake up in the past—on the day that Adora first found the sword. If they're going to make it back to the present, they'll have to relive their past from start to finish, pretending to be enemies despite being in love. Despite being married. Despite knowing exactly how the story ends.But it's not easy, waging war against the person you love most.

Summary
Catra lets her eyes wander; in her dreams, the girl always looked like she had emerged from the ocean, white silk around her limbs, flowing with the soft breeze that it was always present. Up until the last minute, she looked almost free. But now— the dark golden fabric pools around her feet, dragging as she moves slightly.
She considers. “You just— you don’t look real.”
Catra thinks that she might’ve seen the girl’s eye soften for a millisecond, but her mouth twists.
“It’s better for you if I’m not.”-
Catra believes the eerie tales of Bright Moon as much as she believes that the girl with golden hands and burning touches that haunts her dreams is real. But Adora stumbles in her life against all odds and breaks the ground under her feet.

Summary
Time does not slow as her hands close around Catra’s wrists, still inches from her chest. There is only the honeyed ease of it, like plucking a fruit from the vine, or a note from a string. Slayer reflexes, she realizes.
What dissipates then instead of heat is an entire childhood of evenly matched competition; is last week when they wrestled here on this very grass and had gotten tired and laughingly called a truce before either of them could stay on top for more than a minute.
A Buffy the Vampire Slayer AU. No knowledge of Buffy necessary to read! Expect: high-school and then college-age modern au, Adora acquiring superpowers and fighting the supernatural forces of darkness (but was that really such a good idea?), and high drama right beside the mundane.
