Summary
BJ stumbled toward the helicopter, hunched and squinting.
The first thing he noticed was the soldier’s bloody arms. They were both completely soaked, all the way up to the elbows. He wondered briefly what kind of wound would get a man in both arms, then his stomach dropped into his shoes.
BJ knew those hands. He knew those scruffy unshined boots, now caked in dirt and blood. He yanked off the transport cover and was greeted by a face nearly as familiar to him as Peg’s.
It was Hawkeye.

Summary
Darkseid blasts Bruce into the Timestream just before Batman and Robin are supposed to leave for Ethiopia. Dick returns home to a grieving little brother who is researching his real mother’s identity. Tim rings the doorbell, demands that Dick become Batman, and presents evidence that Bruce may be alive, but trapped in time.

His eyes crinkle in his very best imitation of a smile. “And I’d like to see this thermometer’s M.D. The war doesn’t stop on account of my fever.” He clicks his tongue, and drops a piece of shrapnel in a basin. “I thought you knew that by now.”

"She can appreciate that he’s looking out for her best interests, but she’s never been one to take it easy. Tension fills her shoulders, spanning like vines down her arms and down to the garden her father planted. Potter’s different, and she doesn’t know how to react to this."

"She pictures them before she can stop herself, together in that little town in Maine or wherever it was they had shacked up. Walton's timelessly beautiful in a way she knows she's not, and she wonders if he had been attentive in the mornings before she'd put her face on, if he'd kissed her hair tousled from sleep as they woke up with one another."
