Summary
Yelena Belova spends most of her days staring at a portrait of Katherine Elizabeth Bishop. Her extravagant and rich purple dress fit for an aristocrat of the 19th century, with the curious addition of a quiver slung around her torso and a bow at hand.
or, kate comes out of a painting.

Summary
Every movie, every book, every story about the horrors of letting in the ghosts has prepared Dani for the constant state of alarm. The panic. The discomfort of the situation.
Not a single goddamn one told her how stupid it would be.

Summary
If one did not watch Michaela closely, nothing would have seemed amiss. She smiled, as always, mirthful, as always; but Francesca was watching closely, and she saw that smile freeze, for just half a second, and then suddenly, like a jam jar coming loose after half an hour’s effort, Francesca understood.
“An innate indifference,” she said, “to men.”

Summary
"What are you doing?" Rhaenyra asks from her spot on the couch behind her.
The smirk that frames her face is only there because she has her back turned. "I'm… warming my hands by the fire?"
"Alicent." she warns.
"Hmmm?"
"Don’t piss me off."
Or Alicent uses her wife as a personal heater while they cuddle on the couch and attempt to kick off the spooky season with a scary movie.

Summary
“Morning,” Rhaenyra murmured, voice rough with sleep. “You’re loud for someone trying to sneak away.”
Alicent almost dropped dead on the spot.
“I’m not-- I’m just-- you have to go.”
Rhaenyra propped herself on one elbow, the picture of sin trying to lounge. “Do I?”
“Yes,” Alicent hissed, waving a frantic hand at her. “My daughter will be here in...” she glanced at the clock “--fifteen minutes.”
That got her attention, but not in the way Alicent hoped.
Rhaenyra’s smile only deepened. “Oh. You’re a mother.”
Alicent swore she was allowed one night of bad decisions.
She did not plan for the babysitter to drop her toddler off at 8:00 AM after said night.Or for the woman she definitely shouldn’t have slept with to still be naked in her bed.
