This question did not seem to reach the ears of this pale angel. His eyes scrunched up though, and he only leaned in closer, catching the breath of Zagreus as he closed his mouth suddenly. This angel was much too holy to ever be near somebody as demonic as he was.

Chronos won, and he won swiftly. They died, and were reincarnated within more modern times, as in, near the nineteenth century. Except..Something went wrong. Zagreus was meant to be in his home, the House of Hades, but he was raised from infancy within a brothel of Paris. Mistreated and deluded into believing this half-life of his was the best he was going to receive, he finds himself desirous of the first man to ever show any sort of deeper connection to him.

“Zagreus,” Thanatos sighed, a low and lonesome sound. “What is it that you need from me?”
“Sleep,” came the choked reply. “Please. Whatever you must do. Anything to get me to sleep.”
Or: Zagreus traverses the Underworld in endless cycles, unable to find any rest; though he grows stronger each time that he perishes, his body refuses to let him sleep. For this, he seeks a begrudging Thanatos, who becomes his only respite.

“It had always felt like there was some sort of gaping emptiness there, like a hole that Zagreus couldn’t quite fill, no matter how hard he tried. Truly, he had tried. Back when he was younger, he used to do anything to get Hades’ attention- he wanted nothing more than for his father to express his pride and affection for his son. However, it never seemed to work. There were some days/nights when Hades couldn’t even seem to bring himself to look at Zagreus. Nyx and Achilles tried to reassure him and tell him that it wasn’t his fault, but he saw past their false comforts.
The simple truth was that Hades didn’t like Zagreus. That was fine. Zagreus didn’t like him either. Sure, every petty insult stung like a stab wound, but he could tune out the noise. He had tried to change every aspect of himself to get Hades to love him when he was little- well, then, he could change it back. He learned to embrace his identity as the King of the Underworld’s wayward son, drifting aimlessly and lacking a purpose.”
Zagreus runs until he can’t, and he finds himself along the way.
