It is utmost admirable — honestly, incredibly enviable how you stretch out such a short scene and fill every nook and cranny with thought and emotion. The way you write Marina's mixed feelings of disgust, sadism, shame, and even arousal seem so fitting!! This is not to mention the tension, thick in every line!! In addition, before reading this work, I had not thought about how Samarie would seem to Marina in comparison to her father and how it would inform their relationship. It really is an interesting take, quite innovative in the context of the fandom's rather simplistic view of their relationship of either anger at Samarie's murder or toxic yuri.

You know that it won't, because if there was any God who could have healed you, then it's one your parents already prayed to. There's nothing they wouldn't have tried before.
