Summary
God, Ed was obsessed with that voice. Wanted to rub it all over himself, to drink it, to drown in it. To take it apart and see what it was made out of. He wondered if Izzy understood that when they sang together they were touching - voice to voice, from lungs to throat to air.
In the run-up to Calypso's party, things are tense on the Revenge. Stede is still learning how to be a captain, and a pirate. The crew don't trust him, and they certainly don't trust Ed Teach. The relationship between Izzy and Edward is strained by what they've been through, for all that Izzy and Stede are growing friendlier the more time they spend training. Ed's doing his best to make amends - to Izzy, to the ship, to everyone - and to sort his head out, but it's not easy. Meanwhile Stede and Ed are taking things slow, finding their way on shaky new ground.
While trying to work out how to fix all the things he's broken, Stede ends up asking about how Izzy and Ed met. Separately, the two of them tell him a story about pubs and pirates, about marriages and villains, shanties and sea battles, and of the Republic of Pirates itself. And for Stede, it changes everything.

Captain drags his hand across his face like he always does. Bonnet leans out from next to him with a frown.
“He’s barely more than a child, Ed,” he says. “You can’t expect him to run a whole ship.”
Izzy moves quickly and finds himself clotheslined by Captain’s giant fucking arm. He bares his teeth over it as he’s moved slowly back into position next to the bird helmsman.
“I do, actually. Because he can, if he’d only put his mind to it,” Captain says.

"That's right. And aren't you hungry, Izzy? Doesn't it hurt?"
"Ouroboros," Izzy says.
"Yeah. Stop chasing your tail, Iz."
"You don't need me."
"No. Could live without you. Wouldn't like it, but I could."
"I thought you were supposed to be convincing me to live." He's suddenly, violently, angry. "Doing a fucking shit job, Eddie. Did you come to rub my nose in it? Is that what this is?"
"You're missing the point, Izzy. I'm not the point."

Summary
Frenchie has been having dreams his whole life. They're hazy and indistinct, but the clearest ones are of death. He takes comfort in them, in knowing pieces of what's to come, and having forewarning to try and stop the worst of it.
But then, in the midst of his life becoming a nightmare, he starts dreaming the death of the person he blames for it all. But he's given a glimpse of that man's humanity, and faces a problem. Every time he stops the death he dreams, it's followed by a new version.

Summary
Ed drifts up to the deck as if in a haze. The ship is empty, all empty except for him. He stands by the rail and looks out at the blurred endless line between sea and sky. Ed’s floating outside of himself, untethered and alone. There’s no one else in sight. Everyone has gone, everyone has left, Ed has been finally and totally and completely abandoned—
A hoarse voice somewhere above him says, sharply, “Shit.”
Ed looks up. In between the crisscross of rigging and idle flapping of the sails, he can see a figure all in black: Izzy, sitting on the platform halfway up the mainmast. Ed blinks, and breathes, and all at once is settled steady back into his body again. Not alone after all. Of course not.

Wee John’s face was adorned by rouge and powder, blue grease paint and black charcoal. Izzy’s was adorned only by a small X, marking the spot.
Glimpsing his reflection alongside John’s in the ashtray, Izzy thought to let himself be curious for once in his life. He dared to imagine his own face, painted like something fine, like the china in Stede’s crates below deck. Like something built for more than utility.

Summary
I got the lovely prompt: "Izzy teaches Lucius the basics of pirating and gets embarrassedly turned on seeing that while Lucius was away he got scarily competent at doing pirate work."
This is my attempt at a fix-it of sorts post season 2. As such, it touches on darker canon topics, particularly for Lucius and Izzy. I feel like they weren't given the chance to properly process or start to heal from things, and I wanted to give them that chance. This story doesn't go into too much detail, particularly about Lucius's trauma, but that trauma is present.
I also poke a fair bit of light-hearted fun at some of the season 2 canon I find particularly ridiculous, so if that's not your cup of tea it might be best to avoid this one! And Ed and Stede are barely mentioned here, but when they are mentioned it's not hugely flattering.
The story features an Izzy who is determined to do his best by his new crew, a Lucius who still has some issues to work out, much polyamory, an epic Izzy/Aunty friendship, a worried because he cares Roach, a surprising amount of Izzy and Black Pete mutual admiration, disabled characters actually talking to each other, occasionally BAMF-adjacent Lucius, and a future full of possibility.
