Summary
Ten months after a traumatic experience leaves his daughter mute, single father Castiel Novak decides to heed the advice of Claire's therapist and get out of the city for a while. Obsessed with My Little Pony, Claire begs to go to "a pony farm" and, well, Castiel will do just about anything to make his little girl smile. A quick Google search later and he's booked a three month stay at Winchester Family Farm.
Neither Castiel nor Claire knew what to expect when they arrived at the farm, but it certainly wasn't a gorgeous, green eyed cowboy who knows ASL and has a penchant for collecting orphaned animals. Nor were they expecting the entire Winchester clan to make them part of the family. But that's exactly what happens, and it isn't long before Castiel realizes that not only is Claire healing, but he is as well.

Summary

Stiles loved Derek and his cousin Scott dearly as she grew up alongside them. As a child, they were her knights in shining armor and the source of endless piggyback rides. As she grew, her feelings changed from sisterly affection to something more. After catching the two Alphas in a compromising position, she realized that Derek had no interest in women, which caused her endless despair even after she and Derek were married.
When Derek finally summoned up the gumption to consummate his marriage (with a scandalous amount of assistance from Scott), he and his cousin are both surprised to learn that his wife has a secret. One that she keeps under her skirts and didn't even know she was keeping!

His Dad had sent Derek to fetch him from the plane and Stiles’ jaw had hit the floor when he came around the corner in the airport, clutching his rucksack.
Deputy Derek Hale in full uniform had been standing waiting for him, looking surly as ever and his brain was not computing.
Stiles still hadn’t recovered from it, if he’s honest. You think you’ve put a silly teenage crush behind you and wham, suddenly it’s in your face, stubblier and grumpier than ever, dressed in your Dad’s clothing.
It was super confusing for him, thank you very much.
So when Derek had refused to let him leave after the meeting, it didn’t bother Stiles as half as much as that realisation had.
“You smell so bad,” Derek had growled, folding his arms.
“Well I must say if you’re trying to get into my pants, your charm could use some work,” Stiles had rolled his eyes.
Derek had stalked toward him, backing him up against the wall and leant into him, absurdly close.
When Stiles had tilted his head without even thinking about it, he knew he was screwed. Damn his pack instincts, and damn the sheer sexiness that was Derek Hale.

“You know? Do I look alright?” Stiles says, gesturing to himself and he turns around, giving Derek the full picture. He might wiggle his ass a little for extra effect.
“It’s an old country pub. I’m sure you’ll be the best dressed there,” Derek shrugs casually, but it sounds a little choked.
“Would it kill you to give me an actual compliment on my birthday?” Stiles jokes, not really expecting an answer.
Derek shifts from foot to foot, clearing his throat.
“Your lips...” Derek says slowly.
“My... my lips?” Stiles says, surprise on his face.
“Yes. They’re... Erm... they’re very... shiny...” Derek says, grimacing.
Stiles snorts out a laugh and Derek glares.
“Thank you. That’s what I was going for. I’m glad... err... glad you noticed,” Stiles smirks.
Stiles bites back a smile, chewing on his lower lip. He can see the individual lashes on Derek’s face.
They’re a little too close.
“Flattery will get you everywhere,” Stiles winks and Derek scents the air, nostrils flaring wildly, hands twitching at his sides.
“Are you two ready?” Scott calls from just outside the door and Derek jumps back like he’s been electrocuted.

Summary
When Stiles steps into the room that the Hale house has conjured for him to stay in, the first thing he sees is a window already open, letting in a pleasant breeze. The second is a door in the right-hand wall.
Laura clears her throat, scratching at her nose. “That leads to Derek’s room.”
Stiles’ eyebrows shoot up and a laugh bursts out before he can stop it. Now he understands how the pack knew this room probably wouldn’t belong to his dad (which, gross).
He looks over his shoulder at Derek who’s glaring pointedly at everything except for Stiles with pink-tipped ears.
“Presumptuous. I like it,” he says to the house, patting one of the walls and throwing a wink at Derek hovering in the doorway.

When the Hale pack transitions to a new Alpha, Stiles is thrilled to be assigned to Beacon Hills to try out as their new Emissary. He and his dad are immediately enamoured with the idyllic little town, fitting right in with the rest of the Hales – except for Derek. The new Alpha shows no signs of welcome, but it will be hard for him to stay stubborn in the face of his family’s encouragement and a sentient house that has plans for the two of them whether Derek likes it or not.

They sat together, Derek resting his feet against the coffee table, Stiles with his knees pulled to his chest. He was warm, but not, the icy claws still holding onto him, refusing to let go. Was it possible to feel this cold forever? Would Stiles have to set himself on fire to ever feel something again.

“We can’t just leave him here to die.”
“He’s an emissary, Scott.” Derek tried to make his tone empathetic, but Scott’s tendency to fight back on everything always grated on his nerves. “His pack is gone, he won’t survive more than a day or two either way.”
“Then we should stay with him.”
Derek sighed as he studied the man for a moment; he was too pale against the fur rim of his hood, almost grey from lying out in the snow, and his cloak was stained with dark dried blood around a protruding arrow shaft. It was unlikely he would even last the night. They would probably be able to carry on in the morning with little time lost, if any.
It wasn’t a horrible idea, Derek decided reluctantly. They hadn’t been able to set up a real camp for a few weeks in the open foothills, and they were all on edge from sleeping in exposed areas. A defensible place to sleep would be good for them, even if they were surrounded by death. They would be able to give the pack proper burials, at the very least.
“Fine. One night,” Derek relented, already moving away to check on Isaac. “He’s your responsibility.”
