Summary
Emotions are not present in drones. Sure they can emote, but that is just to responses in their code to help complete their tasks and communicate more efficiently. Drones can not feel sadness, anger, hate, happiness, or any other HUMAN emotion. Especially love. Love is an emotion that drones do not have. The humans know this, as they programed the machines to be so. The drones know this, as they are constantly reminded of such. Worker Drone Designation J definitely knows this, and finds that it bears nothing on her responsibilities. Tessa James Elliot is informed of this, and still loves the drone that raised her.

Summary
One thing that no one would consider me to be was empathetic. In this world, especially for a beastformer such as myself, you could only rely on yourself. It was better that way. You didn’t have to share food with anyone, you were never likely to be betrayed, and you never had to feel the pain in your spark when your attachment was broken or killed.
I was an animal, whether I liked it or not. And animals were focused soley on survival.
And yet, as I observed the pitiful orgnanic from across from me, crying out in what I could only assume was its language, I felt a twinge in my spark. One I hadn't felt in quite a while.
And it was all for an organic no bigger than my servo.

And staying at home to watch scary movies just doesn't seem to do it for the two.
