"There was a whole lot I wanted to tell that idiot but damn it!" Levi cursed, gripping his knuckles until the bandages turned red.
He didn't care if he was practically a dead man refusing to stay dead. He didn't care if he lost his eyes and fingers. Heck, if Ymir wanted his toes too, he wouldn't even mind giving it away to the Founder. Everything can rot in hell for all he cares, but not Eren. God, not his Eren. Even if Levi would have to leap off a plane just to see him, he would do it in a heartbeat. He would risk everything for Eren.
Because what Levi cared most about in this cruel world was Eren Yeager. He couldn't just stray from them without hearing what Levi had been aching to say for so many years. That's not fair. Eren has to know.
Levi only cared for just one moment with Eren to make things right.

Summary
For a long time, they stare at each other in silence, mourning what they used to be. The yearning that burns in Eren’s chest is becoming unbearable. He can feel his last bit of self-control breaking away as he finally reaches out, his fingers brushing over the cool skin of Levi’s hand. Like a burnt-out fire lit anew, Eren can feel his heart beating in his throat – the time in which Levi’s façade of austerity has fooled him is long past; the strange glisten in steel blue eyes has given his captain’s true feelings away. Eren can read him like an open book and Levi knows; the keys to Eren’s cell are in his hand before he can think twice about what he’s about to do.
One last time, they could be together. One last time, they can pretend as though fate hasn’t been against them from the very start. Eren is a slave to freedom, and the cost of freedom is Levi.
