Summary
Working with each other in Operation Cleanup, a plan to rebuild the city after a particularly gruesome Eggman attack, Sonic and Shadow grow closer. Feelings come to a head during a hangout at Shadow’s apartment.
When Shadow gets called away for an inter-dimensional mission and Sonic has to care for his houseplants as well as communicate with him through Morse code, he realizes just how deep his feelings run. Who else would he go through all this trouble for?

Shadow wasn't too fond of having been cheated out of his composure. His hand was hot against the hero's damp cheek as he pulled him into yet another kiss. The blue one was aggravating him. Irritating. Driving him up a metaphorical wall. There was hardly room for struggle as he invaded the other's mouth with his tongue. Used his sharp teeth to pull Sonic's bottom lip. Played with his tongue until he felt a soft moan vibrate through the kiss.

Green eyes were fixed on his, glossy and half covered by blue lids. The lightning outside lit them up. Made them shine like the master emerald itself. It felt good to have them look only at him. Shadow idly wondered if he was the first to ever see this expression on the hero's face. Ears folded down in subconscious submission, eyes wet, cheeks hot and his lips parted by heavy breathing.
Utterly fascinating.

It’d been a month or so since…everything happened—and Sonic’s nightmares had shown no sign of granting him mercy. Sometimes he would jerk awake in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, gasping for breath; other times, his eyes would snap open and he would be gripping his blankets with trembling hands, as if his body wanted to reach out and save Shadow.
Today, he woke up feeling completely numb all over, his muzzle drenched from fresh tears. The morning sun was just barely rising over the horizon, streaks of light peeking through the circular window on the ceiling and bathing the floorboards of the attic in warm orange.
How cruel was it that mornings were so beautiful when Shadow couldn’t be here to see it?
OR: Shadow isn’t dead. Sonic just doesn’t realize it until he catches Shadow on the Wachowski’s security camera, sneaking into the house night after night.

Knuckles stared down at the fox, snout wrinkled in confusion. Then, “Ah! Yes!” he shouted suddenly, quickly catching on. Shadow jumped. “That’s right! I just remembered! I had set an appointment with Wade! I am supposed to…” He faltered for a moment before his face lit up. “Yes! I am to train him in the art of bowling!”
Sonic snorted at the blatant lie. “I thought Wade was already good at bowling. And wasn’t he the one who taught you that?”
Knuckles shot him a serious look. “There is no good, inferior hedgehog. There is only better.”
While Sonic spluttered over the casual insult from his brother, Shadow spoke up, his voice soft and hesitant. “You two are busy this late at night?”

Shadow glares at him. “Don't think that I'm making a habit out of it."
When Shadow invites Sonic to hang out with him, he doesn't expect it to become a thing. He doesn't expect to see Sonic letting down some of his barriers, shedding bravado, or running with him in silence, but it becomes his new normal.
And maybe—it's a big maybe—Shadow is getting used to having Sonic to himself.

Sonic gives his own little huff of laughter in turn before humming gently.

"And if I do, hedgehog?" Shadow leans further down into the space separating them, and chaos, his voice. It's deep, it's gravelly, and the underlaying hint of competitiveness does not go unnoticed.
In fact, Sonic takes it and does with it what he does best - runs.

Summary
Kirishima is living a normal, human life with his normal, human family, dealing with normal, human problems, like having sharp teeth and sprouting scales from time to time. Just normal, human things.
When he crosses paths with Bakugou, a grumpy foreign adventurer whose dream is to fight a dragon, nothing can stop him from coming along, not even Bakugou himself. Surely, it won't be hard to hide his little "problems" while living in close proximity with someone, right?
Right?
It didn’t take him long to reach the lemon grove, and he walked straight to the little patch of trees covered in beautiful, ripe fruits. Lemons were by far the least popular fruit they had among the local wildlife but sometimes, Eijirou found a bunch of wild boars that ran away as soon as they saw him approaching, or even stray cats and dogs. It was rare, but nothing out of the ordinary.
What Eijirou didn’t expect, though, was to find a blond man standing among the trees, arms full of lemons and oranges. In all the years he’d spent in this orchard, it was the first time Eijirou had ever seen a lemon thief.Series

"See I want to laugh at that but your face is really close," Eijirou rushed out breathlessly and Katsuki grinned, fond but then the devil was pushing Eijirou even further towards the ground and he yelled out as he scrambled to grab Katsuki's shoulder.
"What's wrong, Pro-Hero Red Riot?" Katsuki teased with a twinkle in his eyes, and Eijirou really hated how weak he was whenever Katsuki looked even a touch happy like that. "Can't handle this?"
"Sometimes I think I can handle anything but you, dude."
"Damn, that's a good answer," Katsuki said, impressed with his cheeks slightly brushed pink as he lifted Eijirou up again but stayed close, and Eijirou watched him, wide-eyed because the way Katsuki's gaze was raking him suddenly made him feel like something to be admired. He wasn't sure he had ever felt that way before.

He gets to the hideout, leads the extras to the creek, and then— unintentionally— falls in the fucking creek. Now the headache is gone, but in its place is a gruff, rude voice telling him to be nicer to Deku. What the fuck?
