Beside her stood a quieter girl with gray-green hair, looking slightly overwhelmed but smiling fondly at her energetic companion. Just two friends getting taiyaki, Sachiko thought. Nothing unusual about that. Except they kept coming back."

    A taiyaki vendor watches two regular customers transform from friends to girlfriends over the course of eighteen months, one "WONDERHOY!!" and shared pastry at a time.

    A certain someone doesn't seem to approve of him leaving, and truth be told, between sleeping in or attending a work conference, the answer is simple.

    Pretend to want to go until they're so insistent that he stays, so Rui can stay in bed with minimal guilt. Toya won't mind, surely?
