Summary
There was something else that fascinated Dottore about the Eleventh, too: he did not kiss. Perhaps he thought it too intimate, or something in Dottore’s scarred face repelled him. The reason did not really matter, but Dottore did so enjoy uncovering the answers to curious little questions. He always took careful notice of the boy’s physical reactions, of his expressions in the height of his pleasure - and, well. There were theories forming that, given the chance, he would dearly like to test. Which as it turned out, was sooner than he'd expected.

Summary
As the Fatui's schemes progress towards the point of no return, Childe grows concerned with the Second Harbinger's suspicious behavior. Having a personal investment in the matter, he decides to do some investigating on his own. The Eleventh is no stranger to manhunts, but uncovering Dottore's true intentions will not be a simple task. How does one track down a man who is simultaneously everywhere and nowhere at once? And can one even be sure that they've found what they're looking for when they see it, in a situation where it's so easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees? Only one thing is immediately certain; the Doctor's many Segments certainly don't intend to make it easy for him.

Pantalone arches an immaculate brow and glides the revolver over Dottore’s cheekbone. “Care to make a wager, then? I hear you’re ever so fond of gambling away your lives these days.”
Dottore traded away his Segments for a Gnosis. Pantalone collects his debt.

“I thought you said you’d be done by now,” Childe says absently, picking up a paperweight from Dottore’s desk and idly tossing it between his hands. He sounds more bored than reproachful, but there's no telling how long that will last.
Yes, maybe he had said that, but Childe must know by now that his grasp on time can be a little… vague.
Childe entertains himself while he waits for Dottore to finish work.
