John feels a mild stab of fear, but George speaks. “Sorry, Captain, that was me.”
Crozier growls vaguely, but his ire is almost entirely reserved for Fitzjames and Franklin. Edward, however, finally looks at them, raising his eyebrows in question.
John mimes smiling, using his fingers to point at the edges of his lips. Edward pulls a face, sticking his tongue out at them. It’s so surprising that George bursts out laughing, and John snorts, covering up his mouth with his hand.
Crozier glares between them and looks very much like he is considering murdering all three of his lieutenants.
