au where omegas who go neglected by their alpha for a long time often go into breakthrough heats when being around a different, compatible alpha who displays one (1) caretaking trait around them
"You– you brought me supper?"
Malfoy eyed her warily. "Don't look so stricken. Do you think I haven't noticed you've been starving yourself for days? You were at your desk when I arrived this morning and haven't moved since."
He opened the box of fruit and plucked out a single grape with his sinfully long fingers. Still seated in her desk chair, Malfoy loomed over her entirely so she couldn't look anywhere else. Sometimes it was easier to forget how large he really was.
"Now eat."

Summary
“I'm sorry, but aren't you Kate Sharma?” he asked, matching her face against the picture from the call a few hours prior. Within seconds her eyes narrowed and the smile immediately vanished from her lips.
“Anthony Bridgerton?”
“What a small world,” he tried, but she only gave him a curt nod.
“Yes indeed.”
Her tone was just as icy as during their negotiations, and Anthony wondered once more what triggered her animosity.
OR
Kate and Anthony first meet during contract negotiations before meeting for a second time at the theatre, where they are given seats next to each other. Over the course of several months, several operas and operettas, a string of work calls and endless pages of legal documents, Anthony falls head over heels for her, despite the fact that she initially seems to dislike him.
But asking out the opposing counsel is not exactly the thing you do, especially when said opposing counsel might accuse you of unethical behaviour…
OR
The story of how Anthony is secretly pining for Kate - opposing counsel and coincidental seat buddy at the opera - for months while (for reasons unknown) she seems to hate his guts.

“Your sentence is three years. But I have better uses for you than that filthy dungeon. You and Kathani shall make quite the beautiful pairing, I think.”
Brow furrowing in confusion, Anthony looked around at the handful of men and women in the court, then back to Kathani, taking in the way she was dressed. Something appeared to click in his mind, and his mouth fell open, his indignation rising. “Your Majesty, you cannot be serious!”

Summary
“When I took your hand to assure you I was unharmed from the bee sting, you – you looked at me. When I was trying to shoot a gun, you took it upon yourself to manhandle me and you looked at me. And now, I am trying my utmost to understand you, understand your past, and you…” She trails off, unable to keep going, and Anthony wonders if she is so distraught because of the storm or because of all their near-misses and almost-kisses.
“Have you not looked back?” Anthony asks, abandoning his pretences of decorum, for it is evident that Kate is not maintaining hers. “Every single time, are you truly telling me you felt nothing in return? Because if you did… if you felt nothing, tell me right now and I will walk away and we can agree that this conversation never happened.”
Set during and after the 2x04 library scene. What if Kate didn't walk away from Anthony when she did?
