It wasn’t that Rossi hadn’t noticed. Of course he’d noticed. He was a profiler, it was literally his job to watch, observe and make note of these things. And it wasn’t as if the kid made it any easier on himself with the way he seemed to get himself into situations where Rossi could notice his… whatever it was.
Or,
Rossi hasn’t noticed that when Hotch is caught in a vulnerable position he subconsciously tries to protect his face. He hasn’t. Nor as he come to his own conclusions to why this might be. He hasn’t.
