“can eddie come?” she asked him. he bit his lip as he tried not to smile at the mention of eddie’s name again.
“why do you want eddie to come?” she shrugged her shoulders again before sighing.
“look. i love billy. but i am in that house with him. i live with him. and i have you and eddie who are also like my big brothers and i love you both a lot and i feel like i haven’t got to see you guys a lot lately. and if you tell anyone that i said all of that, i will gut you.” he snorted at her but all he felt was love. steve absolutely adores this kid.
“i won’t tell anyone that you like hanging out with your gay dads,” he whispered, getting a cackle from her. he smiled again before slinging an arm around her shoulders. “i will kidnap eddie so he has to come if he refuses, which he won’t, because he adores you.” she slugged him in the arm as she tried not to grin.

“eh,” steve shrugged, smiling. eddie looked over at him. “could have been way worse.”

“it’s not like you need to be,” nancy said with a laugh at the end. “pretty sure you’ve got him whipped.”
“okay that is a gross-“ robin cut steve off with a laugh.
“no honey, she’s right,” she agreed. eddie started snickering.

“oh god-” billy cut himself off to laugh as steve joined in. they didn’t hear the set of tires that pulled up next to steve’s car through their laughter. billy reached to push steve’s hair from his forehead where the scar was, looking at it and then backing away.
“tis but a scratch,” steve said, bowing dramatically and getting a whole new round of laughter from billy.

“dog attack, during the rift,” he said with a shrug. gareth, jeff, and andy all looked over at steve and robin. billy puffed his cheeks out as he turned to face steve.
“he has matching ones,” andy said, pointing at steve. steve snorted as robin finished rubbing the sunscreen in. screw just laying out, this shit is awkward. he stood up and stretched before just walking straight into the pool.
