Summary
The Parallelogramophone - A seemingly innocent old-timey looking gramophone with a base in the shape of a parallelogram. Comes with a blank record, that upon being touched by a sentient creature will replay a specific memory with perfect accuracy given that the creature is thinking of it while they touch the record.
If the creature wishes, they can request the memory be viewed differently, whether it be a circumstantial change to the singular memory itself, or a broader change to the universe as a whole. For example, either changing if a person made a decision to go in one room as opposed to another, or changing if that person even existed in the first place.
To enact this change, the creature must scratch the record with the needle of the gramophone before flipping it over to the “b side” and playing it normally.
A creature's record can play as many memories as they wish but can only be scratched once. Once scratched, the record can no longer be changed to a different memory and will only repeat the one altered memory.
The scratch is permanent and is attached to the creature rather than the record itself, which can still be used by other people and will reset upon contact with a new creature.

In a society that previously persecuted and killed hybrids for being who they were, Phil Watson tirelessly works to give his species the rights they deserve after decades of injustice.
In this society, while hybrids are becomming more and more accepted, full-hybrids are another story entirely.
However, it so happens that a few of these full-hybrids have just escaped a dangerous situation, and are still on the run.
They're safe for now. But who knows when their past will catch up to them.
It might be sooner then they think.
