   Summary

   Damian Desmond wakes up with a hangover, a migraine, and an elevator intercom that cheerily informs him he’s dead, which is certainly a bold claim to make before breakfast.

   The afterlife is a cocktail lounge. The bartender is Anya Forger, the girl he bullied, secretly loved, and spent six years destroying himself over after she was murdered. She doesn’t remember him. Instead, she offers him drinks, stickers, and no explanations. He offers the emotional stability of a rotting bookshelf.

   He’s not ready to choose his next life. He’s not ready to let go.

   He’s definitely not ready to fall in love with her all over again.
