Summary
Eddie should have said no. Eddie should have said, I’m fine, I can handle rain, I’ve handled worse, because that was what he always did. He didn’t make choices that felt selfish, especially not for something soft like… this.
This new thing between them that still felt like a secret he carried under his skin, warm and bright. Instead, Eddie heard himself say, “Hen’s not going.”
Buck’s eyes went wide with triumph.
“See?” he whispered dramatically, like they were in on a conspiracy. “Hen said cuddle day.”
“That’s not what she—”
OR Buck just wants to cuddle with his new boyfriend.

Summary
He clicked it before he could think too hard. Men.
Suddenly his screen was filled with stubbled jaws, broad shoulders, curls, tattoos, shy smiles, wide grins. He swiped, quick, thoughtless, hungry in a way he didn’t want to examine.
And then it hit him.
Maybe Eddie Diaz was gay.
Maybe he’d been lying to himself since Lety’s quinceañera. Maybe those five El Paso kisses hadn’t been experiments so much as… evidence. Maybe his obsession with Buck’s lips wasn’t just best-friend-overthinking—it was the truth he’d been dodging for years.
-
Or five guys Eddie kissed trying not to think about Buck—and the one time he finally stopped lying to himself.

Summary
“Hey Chim,” he starts, sidling up to Chimney one morning at the fire station, “have you noticed something weird about Buck’s socks?” Eddie takes a sip of his coffee before looking over to the man next to him.
Chimney looks at him as if he’s grown another head.
“His socks?” he asks in bewilderment.
Eddie nods. “His socks.” He doesn’t elaborate further.
“Well…he wears them. Like all the time. But that’s not that weird?” Chim says, still clearly not sure what Eddie wants from him.
“You haven’t noticed…anything else?” Eddie takes another sip of coffee from his mug. He’s not going to give anything away—he wants to see if anyone else has noticed what he thinks he’s noticed, completely on their own, with no outside influence.
“...No?” Chimney replies, almost as if it’s a question. “I really don’t make a habit of looking at Buck’s feet, man.”
or; Buck has something particular going on with his socks. Instead of asking him about it, Eddie decides to do a little experiment.

Summary
“C'mere," Buck says, sitting up to scoot closer to Eddie.
"What are you doing?” Eddie asks, and Buck sighs.
"You can just kiss me, get a taste of the lip balm, and tell me what flavour you think it is.”
Eddie can’t believe his ears.
"That is such a stupid way to win a bet, Buck."
“Oh so you concede?"
Eddie rolls his eyes, shaking his head before planting both hands on the sides of Buck's face and hauling him in to press their lips together.
OR
Buck and Eddie make a bet on whether or not Eddie can guess all of Buck's lip balm flavours, and in order for Eddie to get a taste, they have to kiss.
