Summary
“Instead of playing that song, I will strive to use my new disc jockey skills to bring about romantic bliss for the one person left in this town who really deserves a happy ending.”
Will clears his throat. He looks like he’s ready to cry. “And, um, what am I swearing?”
“You, younger Byers,” Robin says, “are swearing that you will be your truest self and not neglect your hard-won feelings, and that you will try to believe in a world where the boy you love loves you back. In the gay way, of course,” she adds.
“Of course,” Will sighs. “Well, then, I swear.”
Or: 5 times Robin and Steve play the wrong song + 1 time they get it right

Summary
It’s fall 1988, and the Hawkins Fall Festival is the best way Will and his friends can think to spend their last Halloween in Hawkins together. There’s all the usual stuff – pumpkin carving, games with prizes galore to win, and enough pie to feed half the world over – but Will’s eyes catch on something else for this special occasion. Sure, virtually nobody in Hawkins has bothered to try the corn maze in at least a decade, but he can’t help but think it’d be the perfect place to finally address this storm of tension that’s brewed between him and Mike over the past couple of years. Best of all, Mike seems to take the hint when Will mentions to him that they should try and solve the maze.
Unfortunately, the rest of their friends hear the suggestion, too.
(Will and Mike just wanted to share a private moment – seriously, that’s all they wanted.
They didn’t ask for this.)

Summary
Have you or a loved one been on the receiving end of a love confession from your best mate while running out of Hell? Did you reject that friend because you were unsure of your feelings and now, a year later, are entirely sure of those feelings and ready to reciprocate? Are you unsure of how to properly convey this reciprocation due to how long it's been since the original confession occurred and growing uncertainty about the other's feelings? Have you both been dead for several decades and business partners in a detective agency, and are unsure of how a confession could impact your partnership?
Well, then look no further than this expertly-researched and thoughtfully-developed guide from dead boy detective and ingenious bag of tricks manipulator, Charles Rowland.
(Or: He's already dead of course, but, regarding his connection to Edwin Payne, Charles knows that he’s completely and utterly doomed.)

Summary
“If there is one thing I have learned from sixteen years of life, seventy-three years of Hell, and several months of being a ghost, it is that I do not like touch, I do not miss it, and if the nexus of eternal torture and pain cannot shake that from me, then I do not see how you possibly could.”
Charles continued to grin, and, for the first time since he’d walked out of Hell, Edwin felt his surety falter; he’d seen Charles grin many times like that before knocking a ghost or ghoul out with his cricket bat. He recognized it as a warning that Charles' unstoppable force would make the immovable object before him mobile once more.
The problem is simple, really: Edwin hates touch, until he doesn't. Now, he craves it.

Summary
“Faith,” she says, “what the hell happened?”
And Faith can’t help it – she notices the little things, hears the slightest edge of concern in that quippy, valley-girl voice, and she withers under her gaze. Fear is power, yes, and what she fears most in this moment is just how quickly Buffy can make her want to give in.
With a swipe of her tongue across the front of her teeth, trying to swipe away whatever specks of blood might still linger, Faith feels herself wilt. “It was just a vamp – no big deal.”
“You’re hurt,” Buffy says, nodding to her neck. “And I know how you get about fights. It seems like a big deal from where I’m standing.”
Faith tilts her head to the side. “Then maybe you’re not standing close enough.”
Faith's just trying to let off some steam. It figures she'd run into the one person she most wants to avoid.

Summary
For a while it got easier, through brute-force avoidance and then moving across the country, thousands of miles away from anyone who felt like a real person.
But then you come back―of course you do―and it’s worse than you could’ve ever imagined, because you’re faced with the reality of it.
The reality of Nancy, who says they’ll just have to put off Emerson by a year or two and leaves no room for argument. Jonathan lives in her house, for fuck’s sake, and he’d be hard-pressed to remember the last time they touched that didn’t involve them both going for the salt shaker at the same time.
But there are worse things than Nancy. Something he can no longer avoid.
Because he isn’t actually an eternal eleventh grader, coiled and ready to strike in the back alley of every dream Jonathan has had for four years.

Summary
Steve was once the epitome of separation anxiety, always keeping tabs on people. The fact that this version of him exists, self-alienating from everybody he loves other than Robin, Dustin, and-
Wait.
“Why face me, then?”
With a tone much too light-hearted for the subject at hand, Steve replies, “The same reason you stayed for coffee.” His grin is so sincere, it’s almost unnerving. “We’re both scared of being alone.”
