Sherlock is hiding in the upstairs guest en-suite, having masterfully slipped out of his own “party” (several of his parents’ close friends, a few cousins, and Mycroft) before the cake was brought out. He’s sitting on the windowsill, smoking a Dunhill Red he’d deftly pinched from Mycroft’s coat on the way upstairs, when he hears the shower curtain of the bath pull back.

Summary
What starts as a simple trip to Gieves & Hawkes for wedding suit fittings spirals into something far more raw. "I know I don't." But Sherlock leaves anyway, spurred by equal parts anger and shame. He promises to be back in 30 minutes with the forgotten milk for Rosie's evening meal.
He does not return.
Later, John will think of that last glimpse of Sherlock's face, the tired hurt, the start of tears. He will think that maybe Sherlock has simply decided to be done with this, to be done with him.
Still, maybe he'd better call Greg, see if anyone's caught a glimpse of the man. Just in case.
Across town, Sherlock plots escape but hopes for rescue, trapped in a situation that he cannot talk his way out of.
