'But sometimes when they were alone, and they would do things like shower together. George would sigh under the warmth of the stream and Paul would stare at his pale skin and prominent collar bone and sharp shoulders and wonder how he got so lucky to have this pretty thing near him.
And George would look at Paul with tired eyes and Paul’s eyelashes would be all wet and in that moment he knew Paul didn’t just smell like home he felt like home. Wherever he was. Hamburg, London, America, Paul was his home.
When did all this messing around turn into this? George thought, and pulled Paul closer until their chests were touching and he didn’t know whose heartbeat was whose.
Paul and George didn’t know much, but they did know something. They knew this feeling was lovely, and for now, that was enough.'
George and Paul's relationship throughout the years, trying (or failing) to realize their love for one another.
