For a moment, everything went silent. He wondered if he was dreaming, but the cold air felt too sharp against his skin. The world came back in a rush, sparks of fear tingling down his spine. This was real. That voice that haunted his every moment was real. Finney didn’t hang up the phone—he dropped it.
(A year after Finney killed the Grabber, he started to hear phones ringing again. A year later, he finally answered.)

But first, he'd have to focus on this Meet and Greet and the book signing afterwards.
