    Summary

When Murderbot loses its vision in the middle of a security briefing, it must turn to its friends for help in figuring out what caused it before cascading malfunctions take it out of commission entirely. Especially when those malfunctions start causing it to lash out at the only people equipped to help it.

"What are the semantic differences between a hug and a cuddle?"

"Good afternoon to you too." Gurathin didn't stop making his tea. "How was the data?"

"Limited," I said, and then thought about it. "Informative."

"Great," Gurathin said under his breath. Still not acknowledging my question.

    I asked-

    I heard you.

Or, Murderbot attempts to continue its experiments with touch with its least favourite human.

    Summary

You learn quick in the Corporation Rim – especially if you’re the SecUnit tasked with, you know, doing the securing – that whether it’s proprietary data, equipment, or contract labor, you don’t steal Company assets without major consequences. And, for better or for worse (mostly for worse), Gurathin and I both have the stupid Company name etched into every wire and line of code that makes up our inorganic components.

And Gurathin stole a whole entire me.

So, yeah. This is what you might call "the consequences."
