Summary
Matter-of-factly I took Fitz's chin in my hand. He let me move his face this way and that, inspecting every angle. I recalled his words from earlier, and how wrong he had been. I traced the vein of white in his hair and then, giving in to sudden impulse, kissed the spot where it grew from his crown.
“You’re not ruined,” I told him. Emboldened, I kissed the scar across his cheek, and then the bridge of his nose. “Your scars are beautiful.”
I do not know what possessed me to say such a thing, or what possessed me afterward as I laid my lips upon his. I kissed him gently, and then when I saw his hopeful, bewildered expression I kissed him again. I heard him make a small noise and felt his hand settle, ever so lightly, on my hip. Nighteyes gamboled joyfully somewhere nearby. A cold drop of water tumbled from Fitz’s hair to my lips.

A collection of deleted, extended, and altered Fitz & the Fool scenes from Assassin's Quest all the way up to Assassin's Fate. What kept me sane as I finished this amazing series. Canon compliant to the overall plot of the books, but highly inaccurate as I didn't reread as I wrote this. Some small divergences from canon are intentional, others are my own mistakes!

Summary
Fitz was patient with me. Gruff, but always agonizingly patient. He bundled me into a blanket and sat me before his hearth, shut the window, and shoved the bloody cloak into a corner where I couldn't see it any longer. Then he sat down behind me and pulled me roughly into his arms. I went, angry at myself for going so easily. For always caving so immediately to him, this man who gave so much to me, while always holding so much back.
It didn't matter. His arms were the only thing that chased the chill away, so slowly, I let him warm me. We sat without speaking, my back pressed to his chest, his chin hooked over my shoulder, my smooth cheek pressed against his ever-so-faintly whiskered one. It was a peace entirely unendurable. Silently, we both endured it.
Amidst the trappings of a foreign celebration, in a land that is not his own, a White Prophet learns to live again, and his Catalyst offer shelter from the cold.
