Summary
“He’s flirting with Sapnap,” George says bluntly.
“Who?” Dream looks like he’s only half listening, he’s sloshing his drink everywhere as he sways to the music.
“The guy from before. I went over there and he kept telling bad jokes and touching Sapnap’s arm.”
Dream laughs. “Okay, and? Good for him. You know he feels awkward about that sort of thing.”
George groans. “Yeah but it’s Sapnap and it’s weird."

Sapnap's never been the one to go out and meet people at parties. So why does it feel so weird to George when he does?

Summary
“Why won’t you make me one? There’s room in the blender!” George tries to point and Sapnap turns so that his back is to him, bodily pushing him out of the way as he turns the blender on. The noise drowns out any chance of conversation until Sapnap lifts his finger off the button.
“Why would I make you one when you’ve been a nuisance all day?” Sapnap pours his smoothie into a glass and reaches carefully down into the blender to start taking it apart to rinse it. “Come back when you’re not in a bad mood anymore.”

George is in a bad mood and he wants everyone else to know about it. Sapnap is sick of his attitude.

“Papi, what are you doing?” he whispered, and Alex smiled at him.
“Remember how, when I started working here, I told you there was a coworker who talked a little differently than other people because he couldn’t hear? That was Henry,” Alex explained gently.
Henry watched the two of them carefully, obviously trying to keep up with the conversation, and not for the first time, Alex wished he had a better grasp at British Sign Language.
“OH!” Antonio exclaimed as he looked back at Henry. “He’s the man you’re learning the funny hands for!”

Summary
Honestly, the costume makes no sense, seeing as the haunted house Alex waves people into resembles neither a circus nor a house. It's some slap-shod mom-and-pop maze on an acre of property usually reserved for a kitschy, family-friendly pumpkin patch, called Haunt-O-Stroll (name pending). When the permits fell through for hayrides, the owners converted the paths into a walking route next to old shacks, overgrown hedges, and the half-dismantled backdrops from the local high school's production of Beetlejuice.
Alex had asked during his job interview—they insisted on conducting them, even if he didn't hear of anyone who was actually turned away from the part-time gig—what the theme was. Mr. Richards said scary. Scary is more of a lifestyle than the theme, but Alex didn't correct him. Maybe he should have.
Or: Alex is a scare actor at the local haunted attraction and keeps scaring this one guy who should absolutely not be there (but keeps coming back?)

“Fuck off, sweetheart,” he laughs, a soundbite of the sun. Henry forces himself not to physically react, the term of endearment sweet and menacingly familiar coming from Alex’s lips. It’s been years. “You know they’re useful.”
“Ah yes, eyelashes, truly a formidable instrument in managing international relations.”
Alex grins, and Henry is too late to catch the slightest downward lilt on the corner of his mouth, “Worked on you once, didn’t it?”
Oh, did that ache.
(Much had happened since the time Henry had told Alex to leave. Alex had passed the bar, gotten married, had the most beautiful daughter. And Henry, well. He stayed right where he was.)
