In the crowned city of Oakland, a war against the neighboring city of Francisco beckons forth the king and his military to participate in numerous battles to protect the crown and to keep his city free of magic. A burgeoning knight, Jun-seo, has been the talk of the town square, with his plentiful head collection. Diya, an unknown dog trainer on the countryside, is the one to find her at her doorstep and is surprised to see the bloodstained chest bindings that cover Min’s chest. Meanwhile, Noelle the Scholarly (yes, that’s her actual title) is chasing down a black cat that she believes holds the secrets of magic in its paws. When the cat seems to rearrange its entire bone structure to form a human girl, who is not very happy Noelle is following her around everywhere, Noelle must find a way to protect Akarsha and the wondrous world of magic she inhabits. In the end, these paths cross in an unlikely way to form an even unlikelier alliance.
