    Summary

Back in the day when they were Titans, Speedy and Kid Flash fell into a friendly competition over who would earn the title of Robin's best friend.
    ~
The archer sent an exasperated look towards Dick and insisted, "Dude, seriously. I'm your best friend and I deserve to-"

"Whoa," Kid Flash cried out and faster than Dick could blink the speedster had dropped his bag of chips and was standing in front of Speedy, pointing an accusing finger at his chest.

"You're not Robin's best friend," KF declared. Then, after a whoosh sent wind through the room once more, Kid Flash was standing at Dick's side, an arm slung confidently over his shoulder as the speeder proudly declared, "I'm Robin's best friend. Isn't that right, Rob?"
    ~

Expansion of Roy's memory of being in the Titans with Dick and Wally as mentioned in Chapter 12 of "Family, Forged Through Reluctance and Spite" but can be read as stand alone.

    Summary

"You must have a source," Duke said. "Tell us what it is."

"Okay, okay! I read about you guys. That's how I know that stuff."

    "Read about us? Where?"

"Online," the goon stammered. "Have—have you ever heard of AO3?"

Investigating a mysterious uptick in criminal knowledge of the Bats, Duke discovers the source of their information: fanfiction from Gothamites on AO3. Recruiting seasoned fanfic author Tim Drake and world's best hate commenter Damian Wayne, the three youngest Bats set out to spread misinformation, cause chaos, and snag a high hits-to-kudos ratio along the way.

    Summary

The civilian laughs, helping the other women to their feet, “What are you, some kinda teenage assassin? Kid ninja?”

Duke can't help the bark of surprised laughter that's pulled from him, slumping the henchmen against the back of the cargo container with more force than necessary — which they deserve. His laughter hangs onto his words when he helps the rest of the women out the container one by one, heart tight and heavy when they take deep breaths of fresh air, despite the stench of Gotham's river. It, hilariously, smells like freedom.

“Nah, just a kid from the Narrows,” Duke says with warmth.

(The one day Duke decides to take a day off from being Signal — everything goes wrong.)

    Summary

"Let it be known that I completely detest the implications of what this situation is mirroring," Red Hood grumbles to himself and it's the longest string of words Duke has heard from any so-called Gotham vigilante, let alone the one who's known for shooting more than he is talking.

"The fuck?" Duke mutters, because if he's already going to die, he might as well try and make sense of it.

"I'm not going to care about whatever sob story you have," is what Red Hood replies with instead of explaining, "Where are your parents?"

"Gone," is all Duke says, because it's really none of this guy's business. It's also the truth.

Somehow, Red Hood sounds even more anguished about this information than Duke is, "Ah shit."

(Duke steals the tires off Red Hood's bike and somehow gains a family.)
