Summary
He’d had Ghost’s voice pouring into his ear for hours, somehow rough and smooth and smoky all at once, like the kind of Scotch he couldn’t really afford. And that voice, combined with the fatigue, the bone deep weariness, was starting to have the same effect as good Scotch on his resolve, on his fucking impulse control
Soap makes bad choices, no one knows when banter crosses the line into flirting, and their comms definitely shouldn't be used like that. Somehow, despite themselves, they make it work.
This is mostly porn, with feelings added for a bit of spice.

Summary
They keep talking. It’s soothing, in a way Ghost didn’t expect. Johnny chatters sort of incessantly, in a way that, coming from anyone else, would usually make Ghost want to blow their brains out. Or his own. But now, the quiet conversation reminds him that Johnny is still breathing, that he’s still moving. Even if the conversation is mostly one-sided.
Except for the fact that it… isn’t. Ghost finds himself responding. Every time Johnny tells him that he’s found more rope, found a bottle, found oil, anything and everything he can get his hands on to throw together some makeshift weapon, Ghost murmurs a reward.
“Good, Johnny,” he says quietly, and he can hear the grin on the sergeant’s face without even seeing him. It’s… something. He isn’t quite sure what, yet. Isn’t quite sure if he should be trying to work out why Johnny seems so desperate for Ghost’s approval when he’s bleeding through the streets of Las Almas in the middle of the night, anyway. Besides, even if it’s nothing (he is sure that it isn’t nothing, at this point) who is he to deny the whims of a man on death’s doorstep? It’s no hardship. Not even slightly.

Summary
“You ever get nightmares, Lt?”
It was a stupid question, the man had seen far more death and destruction than Soap had, but he had a very fragile grip on himself right now and if he didn’t distract himself he would surely fall to pieces. His voice already sounded tight and if it were anyone else beside him he might be embarrassed.
There were more beats of silence than he would have liked and he counted each one by the pounding of his heart. Eventually Ghost spoke.
“Course I do. I’ve lived them. They never really go away, Johnny,” he responded, sounding far away.
Soap's dealing with nightmares after making it out of the city. Ghost is there to help. Set after the "Alone" mission
