good characterization both of cyrus and their pkmn team, and they are integrated into the pla plot in an interesting way. good believable character dynamics and conflicts, sound premise. rei, akari, and lucas are excellent in this.

afer xy. great great fic. malva struggles with reconciling the now with what she thought would be happening by this point. she goes on a trip with diantha and she figures she wouldn't mind this, at least, even if she feels like the floor will fall out from under her at any time. great work. malva quietly dealing with depression and making it seem like nothing has happened, everything is normal and fine. secrets never to be spilled. friendship.

i quite like petrel in this. very chill, takes things in stride, puts folks at ease, likes to see the world burn (just a bit!), finds a lot of humor in the world, not necessarily into committing violence for rocket but recognizes that he fits in far better in rocket than he would in society. new recruit proton insults him as a chainsmoking hippie before later finding out who he was and being wary until it's clear petrel doesn't give a shit and insults him even more, petrel offers him a smoke which he takes and embarrasses himself by coughing his lungs up. he hunts petrel sown the next day to ask for another. it's just good fun.

fantastic ariana character study, from her youth, how she joined rocket, until she became pregnant with silver and told giovanni she would carry the baby but she would not be its mother, and would not marry him. great stuff. her relationship with her mom is great, as is her dynamic with petrel, who's 2 yrs younger than her.
