Summary
When summer finally rolls in and lays heavy on the South Downs, he realizes he’s lonely. While most demons are solitary creatures, Crowley is not; just another way he doesn’t fit the mold. Without thinking, he picks up his phone, meaning to call Aziraphale - wants to tell him all about the cottage, what he’s done, what he’s made. Pain brings him up short. He can’t call him - literally, because he never added Aziraphale's number to this new mobile; but it’s more than that, of course. The angel doesn’t want what Crowley aches to give, holding out to him in two shaking hands. You go too fast for me.
So he racks his brain for an alternative, trying to come up with someone to share his accomplishments with. After a week, he lands on the witch. She, too, can make things grow. He dials the operator, asks for Tadfield, Jasmine Cottage. The witch answers. She doesn’t sound surprised. I’d love to come see what you’ve done with the place.
Crowley, frustrated by Aziraphale's continued hesitance, attempts to make a new life for himself after the Apocalypse-that-Wasn't.

Summary
After Aziraphale stepped on that elevator and chose Heaven, Crowley wallowed in a haze of alcohol and sleep and somehow found his way to America where he got a teaching job. Turns out he's good at it, and the kids adore him, so he decides to see it out until the end figuring he never has to return to London.
But then his after school club has a chance to compete in a contest in London, and soon he finds himself heading back to the place that brought him so much pain. He figures he'll be safe since Aziraphale is still in Heaven, but there are surprises in store as soon as he steps foot back on English soil.

Aziraphale and Crowley had been neighbours for six years - and best friends for even longer than that.
To Aziraphale's distress, that was about to change:“I’m leaving."
Aziraphale looked up from his position on his couch at his friend, Crowley. His best friend as it was. They had known each other for what felt like forever, but in reality since they met at the university 15 years ago. Crowley was now standing in the door frame between the hallway and the living room, grey hoodie on.
“Yes, I can see that. See you tomorrow.”
“No- I mean yes, that too.” Crowley looked down at his feet and took a deep breath. “That’s not what I meant.” He raised his head again. “I’m leaving London.”
Aziraphale almost dropped the book he was reading. For a few seconds it was like the whole world came crashing down around him, like his life would never be the same again.
“Why?” was all he could manage to press out.
Crowley looked closed off.
“I’ve got a new job, thought it was time to move on.”
