“You’re the smartest person I know in every room—but if you think I’ll have to pretend to have feelings for you, pretend like I’m fucking thrilled you chose me, then I will get on my knees right now and remind you that pretending is not necessary.”
Her stomach bottoms out, lips parting as his words sink in. Heat spreads through her body as her eyes flicker between his eyes and lips, voice light in a daze when she murmurs, “That’s not a bad idea.”
The corner of Jack’s mouth curves up. “Your mom’s right outside.”

Summary
When Jack turns to look at her, Samira realizes she doesn’t want to leave. It hits her all at once, and once it’s there, there’s no getting away from it.
“You hungry?”
Samira’s not, not even a little bit. She hasn’t eaten in… she doesn’t know how long at this point, but she can’t even begin to think of food right now.
Still, she nods her head. “I could eat,” she says, because she doesn’t want to leave.
OR: post-pittfest, and everything that entails. mostly learning how to cope, a lot of feelings, and even more kissing (eventually).

We are all so incredibly proud of you and cannot wait to hear all about the amazing work you do at UCLA. We can only hope that California doesn’t charm you too much – but no matter what, you’ll always have a family here in Pittsburgh. Hope you know how much you will be missed around here.
