Shortly after he arrived, Yoo Joonghyuk began to rustle uncharacteristically.
He slipped the blanket off his body completely. He slowly ran a hand across his jawline, down his throat, and dipped into his sternum. His hand only lightly grazed his skin, as if hesitant to continue. It worried Kim Dokja. Had Yoo Joonghyuk hurt himself while training Lee Jihye earlier?
Kim Dokja’s mind began to wander. Poor Joonghyuk-ah, he thought, why did you not confide in your companions? Perhaps he did not want Lee Jihye’s pure admiration to be tainted. Kim Dokja feels the corners of his lips tilt upward at the [0]’s endearing ego.
Even if he was not truly paying much attention to his protagonist, he suddenly came alert seeing Yoo Joonghyuk’s hesitant fingers dip below his waistband. Kim Dokja's mind came to a screeching halt. Then it went completely blank.
Yoo Joonghyuk, you dumb bastard! Kim Dokja screeched inside his head. Don't you know I'm right here!

Yoo Joonghyuk raises his eyebrows. He looks at Han Sooyoung, as if to seek confirmation that his teammates have indeed embarked on such a futile endeavor, and she stares back at him with such bravado that Kim Dokja really can’t help but be impressed.
“No,” he says shortly, looking back at Kim Dokja. Then, as if he’s genuinely confused by this, he furrows his brows. “Why do you want to know?”

Kim Dokja only stared down at the dog in front of him, meeting golden eyes that seemed far too complex to be that of a simple canine. He held it up beneath the arms, revealing a stomach so soft his hands itched to pet it, but the beast made no move to wriggle from his grasp.
Still staring at it, he tilted his head in the direction of the maid beside him before finally speaking. "The Yoo’s family dog huh? Is it allowed free reign all over the gardens?"
The maid, Yoo Sangah, stifled what might’ve been a laugh with a poorly faked cough. "My lord, that’s a wolf."
Kim Dokja shrugged at the correction. "Either way it’s wild." He paused for a moment before finally shifting his gaze to look Yoo Sangah in the eye, tone deathly serious. "I think we should get it neutered before the entire dukedom becomes overrun with them."
This laugh the maid didn’t try to cover, even as the wolf in Kim Dokja’s arms finally broke free.
Kim Dokja is ushered into an arranged marriage with a man he sees only when the moon is no more than a sliver in the sky — though at least he has a canine companion to keep him company when the nights grow too lonely.
