The guilt is so sharp it hurts to breathe, suddenly, so she doesn’t. Visi curls into a little ball and holds her breath, feels her body flicker out of existence, the cool ripple of invisibility washing over her skin, and feels… not relieved. But better. Easier to exist when she half-doesn’t.
It’s not the first time she’s had a dream like this. It won’t be the last. Visi fucking knows herself well enough to be sure of that. Her pointless obsession with the golden poster girl of corporate superheroism started well before Robert Robertson was even in the picture.

What if during the 2nd explosion of the Mechsuit, Flambae was there instead of Malevola? He burned open a hole to get into the lab with Royd, and actually ends up suffering a huge consequence for this decision, disabling him of any hero work for the near future. Royd helps him navigate around this as he appoints himself to be Flambae's personal babysitter while he recovers. Flambae also has to process that his feelings for Robert will never be reciprocated.

SDN HR representative M. Kowalski did not sign up for this, but frankly, the paperwork is already filed and she's too tired to argue (featuring: forty-seven stolen porcelain dolls, one very judgmental dog, an Elvis impersonator who cried during the vows, and the worst meet-cute in supervillain history).
