Summary
He can’t put this on Cass, or Duke, and God only knows Damian would sooner throw him under the bus than cover for him. He thinks for a moment of Steph but quickly dismisses it as unlikely to work, on Bruce’s side this time. Barbara? No, she’d never lie for him without first getting all the facts and then deciding on her own that his plans are harmless and he doesn’t have time for that. Dick is out for similar reasons- his eldest brother would lie for him in a heartbeat but one of Dick’s greatest flaws is being slow on the uptake without any visual clues from Tim on what direction to spin the lie. Also, Tim just doesn’t want to deal with Dick knowing about his “get laid quick” scheme. He’s unbearable enough as it is about Tim’s new relationship. That just leaves-
“Jason!” Tim blurts out. “I’m going over to Jason’s tonight.”
Bruce raises an eyebrow in that dry, skeptical way he definitely learned from Alfred and only Jason managed to inherit. “Jason.”
“Yup,” Tim commits. “Jason.”
