"Exile still seems the best option, Stoick..."
Stoick should have known better. While he didn't know much about his son-especially now-he knew the boy was clever. It should have been no surprise when a guard burst into the Council Meeting and revealed that Hiccup had escaped the cell Stoick put him in...hours after the boy was revealed to have saddled a dragon.
Hiccup is gone, and so is the beast.
They search, but do not find him. Berk falls asleep one night and awakens in the Great Hall, where the torches come to life and cast an image of their isle on the wall, from which floats Hiccup's voice, years younger.
AKA, Hiccup forfeited the final challenge, leaving Astrid with the right to kill the Nightmare. Story picks up in the Race to the Edge era, except Berk never learned the truth of dragons, no one knows how Hiccup really lost his leg, and stories of a hooded 'vigilante' riding a Night Fury have been long whispered...and Berk will see it all unfold.

“Did the dragon get you? Have you seen it?”
“Dragon,” Hiccup repeated numbly. Dragon. He knew that word. Definitely knew it. It sure sounded familiar. “Dr—Dragon! The dragon. Right, um, yes, right, uh— Yellow scales, four wings… that dragon?”
“Are there other dragons about?” It wasn’t a rhetorical or teasing question, but a man asking how many enemies were around him.
“No, uh. No. I just… I saw it crash into the ground and— wait, you crashed with it?” Hiccup suddenly realized. “What were you doing with that dragon?!”
Stoick leaned back from Hiccup just long enough to raise his axe. “What do you think I was trying to do, boy?”

Music is a niche industry where only the strongest survive, beautiful in its practice but corrupt in the invisible things, the things that matter. It is of no wonder that the industry in Tokyo was doomed to face repercussions, but nobody probably expected that artists of all kinds were to drop dead one by one in the span of several weeks.
Suguru Geto has developed a purpose, a performance of his own, if you will -- to cleanse and rid the music scene in Japan from the poison that threatens to overtake it. It is that precisely that drives him towards Satoru Gojo, a lonesome virtuoso born within the profession, who just so happens to be completely undeterred by the prospect of becoming the newest target to the mysterious murderer. It is in this way, their duet writes itself.

He bites back a sigh, his eyes momentarily flicking up to the ceiling. “Manami.”
“Suguru,” she spits back.
“What, is the guy fucking yakuza or something?”
Silence. Dead fucking silence.
Suguru’s gaze jerks back down to Manami, who is very pointedly twirling a strand of her pink hair around a finger as she studies the nail polish on her other hand. It’s both painfully disinterested and absolutely forced, and Suguru chokes out a sound that is somewhere between a gasp and a groan.
“Manami,” he asks. “Did you book me to tattoo a fucking gangster?”
Or, Suguru Geto gets hired to do a very specific tattoo, is inducted into the Japanese mafia, and gets himself a very strange murder boyfriend, in that order.

The birds had stopped singing the moment the god had appeared. Satoru was sure his heart had stopped beating too, as though even a pump of blood could alert the snake god to strike him on the spot, and sink his fangs right into the cavity of Satoru’s chest.
“What is your name?” Gojo asks in spite of himself. Unable to even stop the words from leaving because he’s been itching to know, needing to put a name to the god that haunts his dreams.
The snake god looks at him, and he can feel the slight ripple of offence in the air at the blunt question.
“Geto Suguru,” a smooth voice says, tongue wrapped around the words like a hiss. It makes Gojo feel warm all over, the breath he’d been holding escaping him in a hitch. “Hebi no Kami.”
The god of the snakes.
(Gojo Satoru was born with eyes that see through the cracks of the world, a lingering connection to a shrine in the woods and an eternal tie to Geto Suguru. The god of the snakes. Now he must try to answer the question why- through dreams, old library texts and his relationship with the Geto)

Her laugh was like the chiming of bells, high and sweet but slightly off putting; hearing it during the sunlight was relaxing, pleasing, but at night? Ijichi shivered.

Another smile. It didn’t reach her eyes. “Of course.”
