"This okay?" Mike presses his fingers down, ever so slightly. Will inhales sharply and nods, but strangely, Mike isn't satisfied. Because of this, he says something so, so stupid—
"Can you use your words for me?"
Another sharp noise escapes Will. Mike stiffens, tugging his hands away as he mentally calculates the flight cost for a one-way trip from New York to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, until Will leans back into his hands with a soft sigh.
"Yeah," he says, softly. "Yeah, it's— it's good."
When Mike touches the back of Will’s neck, Will loses himself. Mike, obviously, decides to abuse this.

Sadly, Mike wasn't the only one with eyes in that room,
He wasn't the only who could admire the way the light caught Will's sun-kissed skin, making it glow like a summer's day. The way his mesmerizing hazel eyes shimmered, flecked with green and gold, drawing you in with their magic. The way his chiseled square jaw clenched when he was trying not to burst out laughing, the way his perfectly pointed nose scrunched up when he ended up doing so. The delicate pink blush that painted his cheeks and extended to his ears, a telltale sign of his pleasure.
He was beautiful.
And it grated on Mike's nerves.
Because, his Will was dancing with someone else.

Summary
The sun hung high and violent over the Squawk, turning Mike into something that sparkled like a diamond. He was shirtless, his forearms corded and flexed as he hoisted another heavy box toward Murray’s van. Drips of oil and sweat clung to his pale skin, which seemed to be deepening into a golden brown with every passing minute.
Will was staring. He knew it was blatant, gross, even, but the way the sweat tracked down the dip of Mike’s spine was a siren song. He felt a desperate, irrational impulse to reach out and catch a drop with his tongue.
He had to snap out of it. They were supposed to be hauling these boxes over to that kid’s house... Dirk? Derek? to build a trap for the next Demogorgon. They were alone, the deadline was today, and absolutely nothing was getting done.
Leaning against the radio station doorframe, Will took a mental inventory. He was secretly thrilled Mike had started training with Lucas; the results, the broader chest, the lean cut of his abs, the widening of his back, were becoming impossible to ignore. It wasn’t fair.
But if Mike was going shirtless to rile him up, Will could play that game, too.

“Oh. But Will is a boy?” Maybe it’s because she’s so high, but Mike isn’t making any sense. How could he be in love with Will? He dated El for an eternity, and El’s a girl! And Will is most certainly not a girl. Is she missing something? Is there some key information Mike’s not telling her? It’s as if—
“Max...” Mike looks up and cuts her frantic train of thought, voice barely above a whisper. There are tears in his eyes too, Max thinks. He looks so vulnerable and so scared, as if he’s admitting to some sin that she will hate him for, but for real this time, and— oh. It clicks.
“Oh,” Max whispers back, eyes slightly widened. For a moment she feels perfectly sober—that piece of information she just received about her friend might as well be more shocking than the whole evil-scientists-drugged-us-and-beat-us-up-in-the-dungeon-hidden-beneath-our-ice-cream-shop thing.
“Yeah. Oh.”

“Is that—”
“Yep,” Max deadpans, and before Mike can fully process what’s happening, she’s lifting him out of her bag and dropping him into Will’s hands. “Will, meet Mike the dog. Mike the dog, stop wagging your tail. It’s embarrassing for you.”
While on a quest with Max, Mike accidentally gets turned into a dog. It's up to Will to change him back.
