“I had grand designs,” Goose says, low into his ear. Using Maverick for balance, he starts swaying them, gently, to the beat of the Christmas songs playing in the other room. The whole scene is so Hallmark idyllic, that their younger selves would laugh themselves sick over it.
“Oh?”
“Getting you alone and making wild, wild love to you while our guests were none the wiser.”
Mav laughs, his nose crinkling with it. “We’d both throw out a hip, and you know it. Need I remind you of last week with the Mustang—”
“Like I said, grand designs, Mav,” Goose interrupts. “I guess you’ll just have to settle for a kiss.”
