Summary
What does it mean to be in love with someone? It was a question that Edwin had been pondering quite intensely since the Dead Boy Detectives arrived in Port Townsend. He knew what love was. He had loved his parents. He loved Niko – the first person since Charles to immediately see him for who he was and open her heart to him anyway. He’s even growing to love Crystal, as though she was a sister he never had. He admired her sense of justice and bravery and her self assuredness. And of course he loved Charles.
But now he was in love with Charles. Edwin had loved Charles Rowland for thirty-four years and as he recently discovered, he was also in love with Charles. And. In addition to. His romantic feelings for Charles were wholly separate from the deep care and affection he held for Charles since their meeting in the attic. And his realization of these new romantic feelings didn’t replace or superseded the platonic feelings he had for Charles.

Summary
Royalty au where both Edwin and Charles are princes of rivaling countries. They're both just 16, when the war begins, and they're forced to stay away for four years.
Then one day, even though the Rowlands are close to prevailing, Paul Rowland is slain in battle and Charles inherits the throne. He sends for King Edmund Payne to discuss a peace treaty. He'll end the war and spare the Payne kingdom under one condition.
"Whatever do you wish for, Your Majesty?" Edmund Payne asks, seething, but unable to refuse and risk losing what's left of his war-stricken kingdom.
"Him." The room falls silent, as Charles' raised finger lands unmistakably on Edwin.

“You know, if you ever need more canvas space for your chalk art, my driveway is always open to you,” Sokka says to Izumi, glancing at Zuko, which— wow. He had almost forgotten how gorgeous Sokka’s eyes are. That, plus he is being sweet to his daughter? Zuko quickly covers up whatever cheesy expression is certainly on his face.
Izumi’s smile widens a little bit and she nods. Zuko manages to wish Sokka a good day at work and Sokka’s gaze on him lingers for a second before he thanks him and gets in his car.
So no, he doesn’t need Iroh’s help in setting him up with anyone. Because he has spent the last few months fantasizing about Sokka, and he is not ready to give that up nor to cue Iroh in and risk any interference.
(or, Zuko and Sokka are neighbors, Izumi is a sidewalk chalk enthusiast, and Iroh and Azula love pestering Zuko about his love life)
