Adar closes his eyes as he smiles, as his gauntleted hand seizes Elrond’s wrist and moves it gently but clearly away. He is shut as stone. “These are clever little tricks, boy, but cease them now. You have no idea.”
Elrond gives away Nenya before Adar reaches him on the battlefield, and so Adar takes Elrond instead.
