“Not a good morning,” Wylan grumbled, staring at Kaz who was curled on the couch beside Matthias, everybody looked small compared to him. Kaz just looked sad and miserable, in all his black clothes and noticeable eye bags and gauntness. “Jesper Fahey needs to fall in a ditch, I’ve been at school for two minutes.”
“I don’t get it, he seems so nice.” Matthias hadn’t had a real conversation with Jesper, but he’d been in classes with him, and he seemed like such a stand-up guy.
“He’s a good actor.” Kaz moved like he was going to stand up and Matthias handed over his cane without looking. “A little too good. I’ve got a ditch if you’ve got a timeslot in mind.”

“Did I miss anything juicy?” Nina hopped back into her chair after being gone for a good five extra minutes, a grand total of seven minutes without Nina Zenik.
“They’re just bothering me.” Matthias took a pointed bite of a breadstick and Jesper laughed from his spot nuzzled into Wylan’s neck.
“We’re just asking what the first kiss was like.” Jesper whispered, like it was a secret. It became clear to Nina that he was hiding behind Wylan, in case Matthias got so irritated he might start throwing food at him.

“Honestly, you’re kinda a fake Optimus Prime fan for that. Don’t bring Jazz into this, that doesn’t count, 2007 Jazz is not the same as 1984 Jazz.” Jesper grumbled, fingertips softly massaging Wylan’s head as Wylan tried to steady his breathing. “You okay? Baby?”
If Wylan was not completely limp against Jesper’s ribcage right now, he would’ve been able to see Jesper looking down at him softly. Every couple words he’d stop paying attention to his father on his phone and stare at the unmoving, lumpy Wylan.

“That’s not how presentations work.” Nina complained, because she was cold and hands were not helping to make her any warmer. Jesper wandered to poke at the thermostat while Matthias laid a blanket over Nina’s legs.
“This is how my presentation is gonna work,” Jesper returned to the screen, holding the mouse that was connected to the laptop he was streaming from. “Inej has two points, Nina has negative one and Wylan has five.”
“Negative five or positive five?” Wylan frowned softly, he thought he was doing a fantastic job so far, nodding and being enthusiastic about grunge.
“Positive, always positive, baby.”

“Well it’s for Love-Thy-Boyfriend time.” Jesper said simply, he grabbed a pen from nowhere, Wylan flushed deeper when he registered it was behind Jesper’s ear just on his opposite side. “This can be a drive-by kiss or a hug, even just a wave when we’re changing classes.” He poked the end of the pen against the screen, presenting his plan to Wylan.
“You’re thinking of everything.” Wylan couldn’t stop his voice from shaking, Jesper was perfect and there was no way he was real. How was he sitting in the apartment he shared with his boyfriend and discussing plans to kiss between classes?

"Jesper sighed. He was very well aware of the fact that if he didn’t forget about picking a mandatory extra activity, he wouldn’t be stuck with having to attend theatre club. For some reason, it wasn’t as popular in Ketterdam High as other extra classes. If you were to ask Jesper, he would probably pick shooting or jewelry-making classes, but both courses were filled by the time he remembered about signing up for one."
or: jesper forgets to sign up for extra classes and ends signing up for the theatre club. he's not exactly thrilled, but somehow, the people he meet there seem like they're capable of changing his mind.

“Oh, well, hello there,” a smooth, baritone voice suddenly broke through the quiet atmosphere, and Wylan jumped, his skin prickling and his hand jutting on the page. A streak of yellow crossed over the paper, a mistake he wasn’t sure he could fix on the painting. He rounded on his feet, pushing up to stand and confront the newcomer.
“You new to town? I would’ve remembered seeing such a pretty face,” the man continued, perfectly-shaped lips forming into a smirk, pulling to one side and exposing a dimple in his cheek. Wylan flushed, sketchbook held close to his chest, but his palette of paints and his satchel were still by his feet.

Wylan’s cheeks turned bright, but he sniffed, “you said you like being my muse.”
Jesper couldn’t help kissing one ruby red cheek, “I’ll be your muse whenever you need me, now shut up and be my muse.”
